March 2011

Truett & Emma's school had 'Rodeo Days' this week so they both went to school sporting their 'western wear'.

One of the stations at Rodeo Days was a mini petting zoo.  The kids LOVED petting all of the cute baby animals.

Grace and Emily came along to enjoy the fun, too.

Jay & I decided to take Grace to "Build a Bear" for her birthday.  You should have seen the looks we got in the mall with me being 9 months pregnant and pushing a stroller with a 1, 2 & 4 year old!  :)

Emma & Truett helped Grace build her birthday bear.

They each picked a stuffed heart to put inside the bear so that even when Grace is far away, their hearts would always be near her.  :)

Grace snuggling up with her new bear.
We also celebrated Grace's birthday since she was in North Carolina for her actual birthday.

Grace and "Flat Daddy"...this is a life-size cardboard cutout of Michael that Emily ordered.  It was actually scary, at times, at how real it actually looked.  Definitely freaked us out a couple of times when we came around the corner and saw it sitting there.  hahaha!

Now we're just waiting for Lydia Kay to get here!

February 2011

Emma & Truett both had Valentine's parties at school.

Emma's class decorated heart shaped cookies...Emma basically loaded up on frosting and topped with marshmallows...PERFECT!

Lydia Kay Praytor

I'm more than half-way through my pregnancy and it seems that each pregnancy seems to go by faster and faster.  I'm thinking it's because AFTER each pregnancy, I'm busier and busier and don't have time to focus on being pregnant.  :)

I went to the doctor today and he did a 3D ultrasound so we were able to get a glimpse of sweet Lydia.  The doctor also confirmed 100% (or at least as close to 100% that doctors can get) that she is, in fact, a girl!!  We are SO thrilled and cannot WAIT to kiss this sweet little face!

Snow Daze and Daze and Daze

We got a lot of snow this year and were actually snowed in for almost a week.  Well, 'snowed in' for Texans.  I'm sure people up north who are used to snow laugh at the fact that this amount of snow kept us off the roads for several days!  With the exception of Emma being sick for a couple of days, it was actually nice to have a reason to stay indoors, light a fire and drink hot chocolate all day long. Of course, being cooped up with two kids can definitely take its toll, and coming up with new and exciting things to do inside can be a whipping, but all in all, it was a lot of fun.  We even roasted hot dogs and marshmallows in the fireplace one day!

Here's the view from out front porch

Truett LOVED the snow and had a great time playing

I stayed inside with Emma while Jay and Truett enjoyed some 'guy time' outside in the snow
Snow Buddies!

After a few 'runs down the slope', it was time to build a snowman.  Those of you who know Jay, know that he doesn't do anything half-way, so our snowman was pretty massive!

I felt so bad for Emma.  She just wasn't up for playing in the snow, but I couldn't let "Frosty" come and go without getting her picture with him.
The snow stuck around for a while, but the roads cleared up in a few days.  By that time, even grocery shopping seemed fun!  :)

January 2011

Emily, Michael & Grace all came back to Dallas after Christmas for a couple of weeks. We LOVED playing with Grace and Grace LOVED playing with us!

Nasty, cold weather usually means extra loads of laundry for me either because the kids are stuck inside playing 'dress up' or their layered up and bundled up to play outside!
