Celebrate Good Times, C'mon!

Emily and Grace were in town for a visit the week before my dad's birthday and since they weren't going to be here for his actualy birthday, we decided to celebrate early.

We also had another reason to celebrate...Jay and I found out we're expecting Baby #3.  I made shirts for Truett, Emma & Grace that had 'clues' on them about our news.

Truett's shirt
Emma's shirt (as in "Promoted from Little Sister to Big Sister")
 Grace's shirt...poor thing...she'll only have 1 year of being "The Baby"....SORRY SWEET GIRL! :)
Baby #3 is due in March....Here is the first picture of our little peanut

Taylor's Garden Clean Up

I blogged about Taylor's garden back in April...click HERE to read it.  Well, Jay and I had driven by a couple of weeks ago and saw that it needed some TLC so we chose a Saturday to go and clean it up.  We had John post the information on his Facebook page in hopes of rallying the troops to help out.  Unfortunately, we didn't really plan ahead, so it ended up just being my mom, my dad, John, Jay, Truett, Emma and me.

Luckily, some CMSE teachers had the same idea, so when we showed up, there were some extra hands already hard at work.

Emma still somehow managed to get filthy dirty, even though all she did the entire time was eat donuts and play in the water fountain!  :)

Grace and Emily showed up just in time to pose for a picture.

Bienvenidos a Miami...I Mean Tampa...Well, More Like Dallas!

Since Emily and Grace were in town, my aunt, Wendy, and her two girls, Kennedy and Madison surprised us all with a visit from Florida.  It was so much fun, but unfortunately, I only got a few pics from their visit.

Grace was napping when they got to my mom's, so naturally, they were chomping at the bit to get their hands on her.  Of course, after their EARLY morning flight, Wendy was perfectly happy just to snuggle and nap right along with Grace!  :)

Madison and Kennedy were so much fun.  Truett and Emma LOVED hanging out with them and playing.  The girls are always so good with my kids.  They take care of them, play with them, and fuss at them when they need to!  haha!

Of course, we couldn't let them leave without some Gifted Sistas headbands!  They were both the perfect models, too!

We had such a great time handging out with Wendy and the girls.  We're really looking forward to our visit in October!

I Love Handy Manny!

We put our house on the market last week so we have spent the last couple of weeks getting our house ready.  One of the major projects was a repair to our hardwood floors.  There were a couple of damaged boards that needed to be replaced so our realtor had given us the name of a floor guy to call for an estimate.  While waiting for the guy to return my call, my AWESOME handy man of a hubby fixed the floors himself!

Here is the floor after Jay had pulled up the damaged boards.  I have to admit that staring at this, knowing that we were going to be trying to sell our house, was pretty scary!
But, as USUAL, Jay pulled through and the floors looked great!

This may not be as impressive to some of you as it was to me, BUT, repairing the floors took place after he had already:

- Replaced 15 doorknobs throughout the house
- Rewired the doorbell
- Replaced the drain in our bathtub
- Tightened the light fixture over the sink

In the 7 years we've been married, we have never had to call a plumber, an electrician or a carpenter!   To say the least, I am DEFINITELY impressed!

Thanks for being so great, Jay!  I love you!!!

MY American Idols

I'm sure my kids aren't the only ones who fall in love with a movie and become OBSESSED with it and everything involved with it.  I AM pretty sure, however, that my kids are two of the only few who insist on watching the credits at the end of the movie because they LOVE the song that plays during them!

Here is Truett jammin' out to Ne-Yo's song at the end of Princess and the Frog. Emma usually chimes in every once in a while, but she must have been a little camera shy on this particular day.  As you will see, Truett, on the other hand, was NOT!  :)

OH!  I forgot to mention....no worries about the HUGE bandage on Truett's hand.  According to Truett, he bit his nail 'to the quick' and he needed to have it wrapped.  Apparently, he had a hang nail that he pulled off, and I guess a bandaid wasn't dramatic enough for him.  I don't know WHERE he gets it!  :)

The Many Faces of Grace

The quality of these pictures are not the best because they are all pics that Emiy takes with her phone and texts to me throughout the week, but I just had to post them.  They are just too cute not to share!
