October 2010

So, my brother, John, started HIGH SCHOOL this year and it's seems so weird because he is the youngest of my siblings.  Not only is he the 'baby', but he's the only boy, so my sisters and I love seeing him start this 'new phase'.  He's on the football team, so Friday night football games are on our agenda each weekend.  It's great when the weather is nice.  Emma LOVES the concession stand and Truett LOVES running around outside.

Okay, so Truett doesn't exactly mind the concession stand, either!  :)
John attended his first high school dance....HOMECOMING!  He and a group of his guy friends went solo.  I'm pretty sure this will be one of the few times we see him without a date.  Until then, Emma will be a great stand-in!

FLORIDA OR BUST!  Emily, Grace, Jay and I took a trip to Florida this month.  We were part of a 'trade show/fundraiser' that is held by the Methodist church there.  The lady in charge is a friend of my aunt's (who lives in Florida) and we were invited to set up a booth there.   We stayed with my aunt and had so much fun!  My grandma and her hubby even came to visit for a couple of days so it was almost like a mini-family reunion.  :)
Kennedy, Grace, Aunt Wendy, Madison & Uncle Todd

Madison & Kennedy were the PERFECT models!  They were such AWESOME helpers between advertising our wares and entertaing Grace....not to mention keeping US entertained!

Jay and I WITHOUT our kids!  I almost didn't recognize us.  hahah!
We all went out to dinner one night and Emily order Paella.  She had never had it before and was so pumped when she saw it on the menu.  The guy brought it out to her in the pot and served it to her.
 She loved it!
TRICK OR TREAT DE JA VU!
Truett & Emma's school had a "Fall Fest" night with games and activities.  All the kids wore their Halloween costumes.  My kids couldn't decide what they wanted to be, so for the Fall Fest, we went with last year's costumes...Fireman and Firehouse Puppy.

Olivia also goes to the same school, so it was a TWO-FER for Emma when she saw her.  Not only was she pumped to see Olivia, but the fact that Olivia was dressed as Jessie was icing on the cake for Emma!
LORDY, LORDY, JAY IS ALMOST 40!

Jay turns 40 next month, but we'll be in Disney with the kids the weekend of his birthday, so we celebrated early.  His parents hosted a Birthday Roast party for him where the family came together to 'honor' Jay with poems, jokes, stories, favorite memories, etc....

The Birthday Boy
I had to post this picture to document that my mom was there, but I promise the party was not as serious/boring as the looks on their faces indicate in this pic!

The kids finally decided on costumes for Halloween.
