No Better Time for the PRESENTS!

After we finished taking pictures, Truett and Dakota were MORE than ready to open presents. I don't know that Truett fully gets the concept of getting/giving gifts at Christmas, but he was MORE than happy to open any and every thing that was put in front of him.

The one thing about Truett and opening gifts (which could be a plus or a minus...depending) is that he opens a present and then wants to play with it. It's good when I want to get a picture of him with the gift or want to see what he's just unwrapped, but not so good when everyone is anxious for him to open THEIR gift to him. :)
With Jay's family, we typically open gifts one person at a time so everyone can see what everyone gets. Truett and Dakota opened together and Truett started with his stocking. The first thing he pulled out was a pack of peppermint sticks...CANDY!
Next item...a bobble-head picture frame with his own picture in it. I think he thought it was great because he immediately ran and put it on Gramma's stairs with all of her Nutcrackers (which he thoroughly enjoys). :)
He also found a Rudolph coloring book which he looked at and read for about 5 minutes (doesn't sound long, but given the fact that his attention span is about 2.2, I could tell he REALLY liked that present!).
Here is Emma patiently waiting to open her gifts. "How 'bout one present? Can't I just open ONE present?"
Poor Emma fell asleep while waiting for her turn. :)
Truett also got a scooter...
and a camoflauge sleeping bag from Uncle Jim, Aunt Stephy and Dakota.
Gramma and PaPaw gave him (in the words of Truett) a "BIG OLE" truck to play with in his sandbox at home.

His big gift from them this year was his playset...he LOVES it! (So do I because I can send him outside to play without having to entertain him myself!) :)
Emma got a pair of ruby red slippers and clothes from Gramma and PaPaw. Uncle Jim, Aunt Stephy and Dakota gave Emma her very own princess placemat. SO CUTE!

Once the kids were done, it was our turn to open gifts. Jay surprised me with a precious Willow Tree Nativity set. It is the sweetest thing and one of my favorite gifts that I received.

We all finished opening gifts and enjoyed a wonderful Christmas meal together. After filling our bellies we got ready and headed out the door for the horse and carriage ride!
