While Truett was loving up on Emma, we told him to sing a song to her. He started singing "Happy Birthday" to her. It was the sweetest thing and I couldn't have picked a more perfect song myself!
Hey, Amy!! Hope you don't mind, Jen sent me your blog...I am so excited to have another blogging friend!! Emma is precious and Truett is such a little Jay!! Looks like you guys are doing great!
Jay and I were friends when I was in college. After a few years of going our separate ways and losing touch, we met up again and have been together ever since. We were married in April 2003 and have loved every minute of it. We are total opposites when it comes to our personalities, but we share the same philosophies and ideals about marriage and parenting. We love the journey that we're on together and look forward to what God has planned for our family.
Truett was born in June 2006 and has made us so happy and so proud (and at times, so frustrated...hahah!) in his short little life so far. His point of view and thinking are so great and his wheels are always turning, mentally AND physically! He loves playing outside, swimming and dressing up as his favorite movie/cartoon character. It's pretty common to find me in the grocery store or out running errands with "Handy Manny", "Fireman Sam" or "Woody". His new thing is telling jokes. Here are just a couple of his favorites:
Knock, knock! Who's there? Little old lady. Little old lady who? I didn't know you could yodel!
What's a pirate's favorite letter? Arrrrrr You THINK it's the ARRR, but it's REALLY the SEEEEEEEEA!
Emma was born in October 2008 and has been just the right amount of sugar and spice and everything nice. Of course, we definitely have a 'monkey see, monkey do' situtation on our hands and have started witnessing the effects of having an older brother! She loves to read books, color, swing outside and has recently become really interested in her baby doll. She has already started to fight for her independence and tells me, "I do it!". She definitely has a temper, which we blame on the red hair! :) She is very sweet but is also very tough and can definitely keep up with the big kids (thanks to her brother). She ADORES Truett and many times will call for him first thing when she wakes up in the mornings. We are looking forward to watching the bond between the two of them continue to grow.
