I just realized that I never posted about Truett's Open House!
So, we dropped Emma off at my mom's house and Nannie Emily and Aunt Sarah were there to take of Emma (it was National Night Out in my mom and dad's neighborhood). Jay, Truett and I headed to Truett's school and as we pulled up, a little girl from his class was walking in at the same time. Truett's face lit up immediately and he couldn't wait to run in after her.
As we walked in, the director was taking each family's picture. When it was our turn, Truett said, "Come on! Let's take a picture!" He was so excited to be there with Jay and I...I was really glad I had decided to go.
We walked around to the different classrooms to meet his teachers. All of them commented on how bright and sweet and precious Truett is. Now, I'm sure they say those things to all of the parents, but Jay and I know that they really MEAN it when they say it to us! :)
We talked to Ms. Ade', Truett's FAVORITE Spanish teacher. She was an aide in his classroom last year and he absolutely LOVES her!
We also talked to Ms. Debbie, who is his new teacher this year. He started this year in a different room with a different teacher, but she no longer works for the school, so he was moved to a different room with a new teacher. I was a little worried about it because I figured a new baby sister was a big enough transition for him, but he seems to be doing pretty well. The good thing is that his friends from this year were also moved to the same class with him, so that helped. Not to mention that the theme for his new classroom is VeggieTales...or as Truett likes to call them "Sponge Bob and Larry".We met Ms. Kimia, who teaches music. Jay and Truett took a break and had a little jam session together in the music room. Ms. Kimia said Truett loves music and really enjoys banging the instruments...ummm...YEAH he does...the beat up walls and furniture all over my house is proof of THAT! And finally, we met Ms. Amanda, who teaches Fun and Fitness. Aubry was in there at the same time, so Truett was thrilled to play with her. I was hoping that the running around in the gym would wear him out a little so that he wouldn't be so wired come bedtime.
When Open House was over, Truett got a cookie and some lemonade and we headed back to LeeLa and PaGou's house for supper.
Truett left with Uncle John to enjoy the festivities at National Night Out...yeah! More energy-burning activities!!!
Obviously, Truett's Open House wasn't anything extrodinary but it couldn't have been scheduled at a better time. Emma was only a few days old, but this gave Jay and I a chance to make a fuss over Truett without Emma being involved. Plus, Truett really enjoyed it!

I know how precious those moments with your first baby are after you bring your second home! I am glad you were able to go and be with Truett! You are very blessed to have such wonderful family around to watch your babies!
Too cute, all of it. I have been following your blog and thinking of you often. Congrats on Emma's arrival and sweet little Truett.
